NGO WG: Monthly Action Points for the UN Security Council - December 2010

30 November 2010

As a member of the NGO Working Group on Women, Peace and Security, we are pleased to share the latest Monthly Action Points (MAP) for the UN Security Council.

For December 2010, in which the United States of America has the Security Council presidency, the MAP provides recommendations on country situations such as Afghanistan, Burundi, Chad, Cote d'Ivoire, Guinea, and Sudan. The MAP also provides recommendations on the upcoming Council discussion on Women, Peace and Security, specifically on the forthcoming Secretary-General's report on sexual violence in conflict, and on the Council's upcoming discussion on counter-terrorism.

These briefs are designed for Security Council Members, civil society actors, Member States, and UN entities. We look forward to your feedback and input. Please distribute widely. All previous MAPs are available at: www.womenpeacesecurity.org.
