We are delighted to share the news that the IANSA Women’s Network was a finalist in the first-ever Avon Communications Awards: Speaking Out About Violence Against Women for our work on the Disarm Domestic Violence campaign.
The nomination is an important acknowledgement of our work on the issue and we congratulate and thank all of you amazing IANSA women who have worked so hard on the campaign and are committed to take the issue forward.
The Disarm Domestic Violence campaign will now be featured in an Avon Foundation book and on a website on violence against women.
Rebecca Gerome, IANSA Women’s Network Programme Officer attended the awards ceremony at the 2nd World Conference of Women’s Shelters on 28 February 2012 with over 1,500 activists and advocates from more than 90 countries who work in shelters or programmes dedicated to assisting domestic violence victims and families.
