The IANSA Women's Network has contributed to the 16 days of Activism Against Gender-based Violence Campaign 2013 on the topic of domestic violence and the role of small arms.
Part of the Campaign Tool Kit, the information sheet focuses on a serious aspect of small arms proliferation: the deaths and injuries caused by guns in the home. Momentum is gathering to ensure that this aspect of gun violence is acknowledged and addressed around the world and we are heartened that it remains a theme in the broader campaign this year.

The 16 Days Campaign was launched on 25 November 2013 by the Center for Women’s Global Leadership (CWGL) at Rutgers University. CWGL joins thousands of activists from around the world in a call for an end to gender-based violence and more substantial responses on the part of governments to act with due diligence in protecting and preventing gender-based violence. Symbolically designated to emphasise that gender-based violence is a human rights violation, the 16 Days Campaign begins on International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women (25 November) and concludes on International Human Rights Day (10 December).
